Drive Letter Access (DLA) for Microsoft Windows 98SE, 2000, and XP version 5.21 build 01C Installation Readme ------------------- This package installs an updated version of the Drive Letter Access (DLA) software that comes with ThinkPad, NetVista, and ThinkCentre systems and Think Recording drives. This update also replaces the version of DLA integrated into Multimedia Center for Think Offerings version 2.2 or 2.4. This update requires approximately 24MB of space on your hard drive. Drive Letter Access (DLA) allows you to drag and drop from your hard drive to your CD-RW drive, copying the file to a formatted CD-RW disc. Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Double-click My Computer. 2. Right-click on the icon for your recordable drive. 3. Click Properties. 4. Click the DLA tab. 5. Click Version information. The About DLA dialog will appear. Look for Version and Build. Alternate version check for system with 'DLA driver crash' -------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Open a command window 2. Execute the command 'DLA VERSION' 3. Inspect ther result for the version Downloading the update ---------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file. Installing the update --------------------- Note: This update requires that a previous version of DLA be installed. 1. Click Start, click Find or Search, then click Files and folders. 2. Type DLA521B01u.exe in the search field, then click Search. This will locate the file you just downloaded. 3. Double-click the icon for DLA521B01u.exe. 4. Click Next. Read the license agreement. 5. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 6. Follow onscrene instructions to uninstall old version and install new version 7.
