What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides the Fast-swap driver for Windows Me users.
The Fast-swap driver enables or updates the Fast-swap function with
Windows Me ACPI mode of the following ThinkPad computers:

  - ThinkPad A20m/A20p/A21m/A21p/A22m/A22p/A30/A30p/A31/A31p
  - ThinkPad T20/T21/T22/T23
  - ThinkPad T30 models for supporting Windows Me
    (2366/2367-x1x, x2x, x3x, x4x, x5x, A6x and A7x
     except for M1x, M2x, M3x, M4x and M5x)
  - ThinkPad X20/X21/X22/X23/X24


To determine if you should update the Fast-swap driver, refer to the
"Summary of Changes" section.

To update the Fast-swap driver, refer to the "Installation 
instructions" section.

NOTES:
- User cannot swap any device of Ultrabay 2000 while System is
  in the hibernation state.
- ThinkPad Software Installer provides install/(uninstall) wizard
  for this package.

Installation instructions
-------------------------
ThinkPad Software Installer provides install/(uninstall) wizard for 
this package. Follow the instructions on screen of the ThinkPad 
Software Installer wizard or follow the instruction below.

NOTE:
- Windows Me is assumed working with ACPI mode.
- If a previous version is already installed, uninstall it first.

UNINSTALL:
 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
 4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
 5. Click IBM ThinkPad Fast-swap feature for Windows Millennium 
    Edition or IBM ThinkPad Fast-swap feature in the list.
 6. Click the Add/Remove button.
 7. Follow instructions and restart Windows.

INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start and then click Run.
 4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the
    package in the step 2, and click OK.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Determining which version is installed 
--------------------------------------
 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 3. Double-click the ThinkPad Fast-swap device icon. If there is no 
    icon, then the driver was not installed.
 4. Click About. The Version: field shows the software package 
    version.
