Installation Instructions ------------------------- - Make sure that DirectX8 runtime modules have been installed into the system before installing this driver. DirectX runtime modules are available at the Microsoft Web site. Installation Instructions for Windows Me ----------------------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows Me. 2. Extract the Video feature driver onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. In the run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\ATISETUP.EXE to install the video driver. Click the OK button to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. Select ATI Easy Install. 6. When the Welcome window appears, click the Next button. 7. At the Software License Agreement screen, if you agree, click Yes. 8. Click Express Install. 9. If the Digital Signature Notification window appears, follow these steps: Click the Advanced button. Select Warm when installing unsigned devices and click the OK button. Click the Yes button. 10. Click the OK button. 11. At Setup complete screen, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now and click Finish. Installation Instructions for Windows 98/95 OSR2.x -------------------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows 98 or Windows 95 OSR2.x. 2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then clck Run. 4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\SETUP.EXE to install the video driver. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. When the Welcome window appears, click Next. 6. At the Software License Agreement screen, if you agree, click Yes. 7. At the Setup Complete screen, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now. 8. Click Finish, then restart the system. Installation instructions for Windows 95 OSR0 and OSR1 ------------------------------------------------------ Since the Setup.exe, InstallShield does not work with Windows 95 OSR0/1 do the following Clean installation 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 4. Double-click the System icon. 5. Click the Device Manager tab. 6. Expand Display Adapters and remove Standard Display Adapter (VGA). 7. At the Confirm Device Removal window, click OK. 8. At the Restart confirmation message window, click NO. 9. Expand Other Devices and remove PCI VGA-Compatible Display Adapter. 10. At the Confirm Device Removal window, click OK. 11. If the PCI VGA-Compatible Display Adapter Has a ROM window appears, click Test. 12. Shutdown and restart the system. 13. When the system starts, the New Hardware Found window appears. Select Driver from disk and click OK. 14. Specify atidrive directory where the driver files were extracted and click OK. 15. At the System Settings Change window, click YES to restart the system. Overwrite installation 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 4. Double-click the System icon. 5. Click the Device Manager tab. 6. Expand Display Adapters. 7. Select RAGE Mobility-M AGP and click the Properties buttons. 8. Select the Driver tab. 9. Click the Change Driver button. 10. Click the Have Disk button. 11. Specify C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\ATIDrive\ and click OK 12. At the Select Device window, select RAGE Mobility-M AGP and click OK. 13. At the RAGE Mobility-M AGP Properties window, click OK. 14. At the Insert Disk window, click OK. 15. Specify C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY\ATIDrive\ and click OK. 16. At the System Settings have changed window, click Yes to restart the system. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- Windows Me/98 1. Start Windows Me or Windows 98. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Display icon. 4. Click the Setting tab. 5. Click the Advanced button. 6. Click the Options tab. The build is the version number. Windows 95 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Display icon. 4. Click the Options tab. The build is the version number.
